COVID-19:  Member Updates

Governer Cooper's Executive Order No. 124:

On March 25, 2020, to assist members that may be struggling during this time, Rutherfod EMC suspended disconnections for nonpayment and began waiving late fees and penalties. On March 31, 2020 Governor Roy Cooper issued Executive Order No. 124 which complements the protocols we have put in place. We know many members are facing financial difficulty. If your income has been affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic, contact us. REMC will help you set up payment arrangements and advise where to apply for energy assistance. By working together, we can help you get through these challenging times.

For the safety of our members and employees, all Rutherford EMC lobbies are CLOSED until further notice. However, drive-thru's and drop boxes are open at all six of our office locations, and our customer service reps will remain available via phone to assist with payments, new service applications, and any other requests. Additionally, REMC has suspended disconnections for non-payment and waived all late fees.
