Rutherford EMC offers medical priority status to members who have conditions requiring life-sustaining medical equipment. If you or anyone living in your home requires life-sustaining medical equipment that is powered by electricity, please let our office know. You may have your health care provider write their own letter to REMC or they may complete the Medical Priority Request Form.
The form must be completed by a health care professional, home health facility, or equipment supplier.

Please note: medical priority status does not exempt a member from disconnection due to nonpayment, nor does it guarantee that you will be provided with immediate power, as no one can make that guarantee. Rutherford EMC makes every effort to restore power as soon as possible when a power outage occurs. There will be times when power outages are beyond our control. REMC encourages our members to have a backup energy source for medical equipment. In the event of an extended power outage, you should always be prepared to move to an alternate location.
